I was just thinking about how social relationships are truly the foundation of a happy and well-balanced journey while on earth. While it's true that we all need alone time for deep thought or meditation, it's also just as important to have time to spend with others who are dear to us. I have discovered that as I get older, I am more open to meeting and learning the stories of others more than ever before. Perhaps as we grow spiritually we learn that we are indeed one entity, and that our actions all reflect and possess an effect on one another. Perhaps the world isn't a big as we thought, and I think that's a good thing. We have a grand variety of belief patterns and ways of life, yet we are all so similar in our basic needs. Don't we all want to give and receive love as best we know how? Don't we all want to laugh and enjoy the present moment? If I could offer any token of advice to the world, I would say this...
Do not constantly long for more, for by always wanting we forget to relish in the majesty that is the present.
If you haven't given someone you care about a kind word or a loving embrace in a while, why not do it today, right now? Our only certainty can be this moment...nothing more and nothing less.
